Meaningless Tragedy

On Friday afternoon, a sprinkler repairman beat a man to death and then bludgeoned the man's daughter-in-law. There's no way the victims could have prevented or prepared for this; it's a horrible thing that happened when a mind became unhinged.

The slain man was the patriarch of a large Boston-area family, and knowing one of the family members just makes me one of thousands who do, and whose thoughts and prayers go out to the family. What a senseless tragedy.
